Aravind Adiga got Booker and many Indians are having heartburn because they argue that protagonist of the novel “White Tiger” is pure figment of imagination unconnected to real shining India.
Why read too much into fiction when Adiga’s earlier news reports in prestigious Time magazine were also a bunch of fiction!!!
Arvind wrote pure fiction as Time correspondent!!! and it got sold!!! Probably Aravind has found his true calling is writing fictions rather than concocting news!!!.
For the damage Adiga did refer to this newslink from 2004. Adiga sang eulogies to then DM of Patna that resulted in he getting man of the year!!! But DM was stealing money and everyone associated with flood relief work knew that DM was a gas bag because no intended benefits were ever seen reaching the poor!!!! How Adiga missed such a scam is a mystery and Adiga has not done any explaining despite repeated calls to Time.
